Nuraghi
The circular stone towers, built without mortar more than 3,000 years ago, are the most emblematic structures of prehistoric Sardinia, and Ogliastra preserves many examples of them.
Nuragic villages
Villages with dwellings, wells and storerooms grew up around the nuraghi: visiting them means stepping into everyday Bronze Age life.
Giants' tombs (tombe dei giganti)
Large corridor-shaped burial structures made of huge stone blocks, tied to legends that are still part of local storytelling.
Domus de janas
The "fairy houses" are Neolithic tombs carved into the rock, with burial chambers decorated by engravings and symbols.
